注意： 三封推荐信格式最好不要完全一样，例如，开头语和结尾语可以有所变化。有条件的同学，可以选用有学校校徽等标志的专门的信纸来写推荐信。推荐 人的签名可以是中文，也可以是英文。推荐信邮箱要使用推荐人的教育邮箱或者公司邮箱，不要使用私人邮箱。
推荐信内容
关于推荐信的内容，当然是因人而异，没有什么标准格式的。但申请者在构思三封推荐信之前，就要明确每一封推荐信着重突出自己在哪方面的成绩（学术、实习、课外活动等），且三封推荐信内容要和个人陈述联系起来，成为个人陈述最有力的佐证。
在写推荐信的时候，首先要说明推荐人和被推荐人的关系，两人是如何认识的以及认识多久，且一定要提出被推荐人的全名，不要以昵称代替。
一般情况下，推荐人要针对申请者的某一个或几个特质进行详细描述。如果要描述申请者上课表现积极，可以具体举例：每次上课都坐第一排；总是第一个回答问题；尊重他人的基础上，发表不同的意见；提前预习，发表深刻见解等。一定要辅助真实事例，详细描述，切记空泛谈论。
避免使用太过夸张的词汇，例如，某某是我教过的最聪明的学生或是我认识的最勤奋的学生等。推荐信可通过具体事例来突出申请者的聪慧和勤奋，但夸张的形容词，在录取官看来，太为言过其辞。
推荐信最好保持在一页之内，真实情况下，很少有教授或者经理愿意在百忙之中抽出时间为你洋洋洒洒写一篇长达两页的推荐信。
最后，推荐信成稿后，一定要请专业的外国编辑对推荐信内容进行修改。外国编辑可以从第三方角度对推荐信进行润色修改，让推荐信读起来更像是出自推荐人之手，而不是由申请者自己撰写。
推荐信提交
推荐信提交分为推荐信邮寄和网上提交。
