《What does he look like?》公开课教案

一·教学目标

知识目标:1.学习一些描写人物外貌的单词。

2.学习描写人物外貌的句型。

能力目标:能熟练运用所学单词、句型进行人物外貌描述。

情感目标:学会观察和描述周围的人物,互相了解,增进友谊,在谈论他人的外

貌时应注意使用委婉语,礼貌待人,并能正确引导学生不能以貌取人。

二、教学过程

Step 1:Greeting.Step 2:Lead-in: T: Do you like listening to music? Ss:Yes.T: Ok,let’s listen to catoon music now. (play the cartoon)

T: Do you know the English name of the cartoon? S1:《Big head son and small head father》

T: Please describe the father’s and the son’s looks.S2:The father has a small head, but the son has a big head.S3:The father has small eyes,but the son has big eyes.S4:The father is tall, but the son is short.T:OK,you’re great! In this cla,we’ll learn how to describe people’s looks.For example,their build,their height,their eyes,their hair,their glaes and so on.Step 3: Presention:

出示图片分别学习单词short, medium, height, tall.教者用这些单词说了一些句子: She is short.She is medium height.He is tall.然后教者提问并下了指令:Read the words and sentences two twice after the teacher.Ss: Short, medium height, tall.

T: What do I look like? I\'m short.(Ask one medium height student and one tall student.What do you look like?)

S1: I\'m medium height.

S2: I\'m tall.

T: Please practice this dialogue like this one by one.We only have two minutes for practice.OK? Let\'s begin.

T: Now, please this line.One by one.(Ask two lines)

T: Now, let\'s look at the next picture.

thin, a medium build, heavy.She is thin.She has a medium build.She is heavy.Who can read? Twice.The other students read after her or him.

(Ask one student to read them)

T: What do I look like? I have a medium build.What do you look like?

(Ask a thin student and a heavy student)

S1: I am thin.

S2: I am heavy.

T: Please practice the dialogue like this in pairs.(in two minutes)

(Then ask six pairs to practice them)

T: Very good.Let\'s go on.Short hair long hair.She has short hair.She has long hair.Now who can read? (Ask one student to read twice.) Next picture.Straigh hair, curly hair.She has straight hair.She has curly hair.What do I look like? I have short, straight hair.What do you look like? (Says to a student.)

S1: I have long straight hair.

T: (Asks S2) What does she look like?

S1: She has long straight hair.

T: (Asks S3) What do you look like?

S3: I have short straight hair.

T: (Ask S4) What does he look like?

S4: He has short straight hair.

T: Practice like this between three students in two minutes.

(Ask six groups)

(电脑显示五组图片,人物形象符合学生口味,学生非常感兴趣,利用教师指导、学生教学生的办法来学习新单词。每一组单词都用图片训练,保证训练时间充分、形式要多样--由单人到连锁,由两人一组到三人一组。此环节教学任务完成很好,目标已达成。) Step 4:pair work

T: Let\'s know these stars.their names are zhangbaizhi….First, look at their pictures.Then describe it in your group in two minutes.(each group has six students)

教者出示四幅明星的图片,让每组出一名代表,共四名同学描绘张柏芝,周杰伦,谢娜,刘翔.描绘前先让小组讨论,通过讨论,得出答案,让学生体验合作学习的成功感,进而促进每个人发挥想象力,创造力,激发学习兴趣。

Step 5:游戏:警察抓小偷。操作:一学生用英语描述小偷的长相。其他学生:扮演警察抓小偷。

T: Now we will play a game.《the policeman and the thief》.Are you happy? OK?

S: Yes.

T: Let\'s begin.But you must remember, as a policeman you must find the thief.Listen to my describtions.He is thin.He is tall.He wears glaes.He has long curly hair.Who is the thief?Step 6:

T: Now take out your pictures.Talk about your pictures in groups.

Then I will ask you to describe your pictures in the front.Step 6:自我挑战:让学生来描述我班、我校老师。如:班主任郭艳,琴法老师:袁静,舞蹈老师:李娟,美术老师:刘小青等等。(在描述的过程运用了本节所学知识,也运用了以前所学的知识,使本节的教学任务顺利完成。) Step 7:总结:总结本节课知识。

T: (Asks a student) What have we learnt in this le? 生:(今天我们学习了描写人物外貌的单词及句型,并且运用这些知识描述了人物外貌。) Step 8:homework

T: Thank you.Stop here.I\'ll sign homework for today: Describe your families.Cla is Over.Goodbye.

S: Thank you Mi Sun! Goodbye.
