The FBI hosted its first-ever foreign language job fair in Houston Friday, local media reported.The languages most needed by the FBI are Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew, Korean, Somali and Spanish.Qualified candidates must have strong oral and written English skills as well as proficiency in a foreign language.They also must be a US citizen and have lived in the US for 3 of the past 5 years.FBI linguists work a variety of interpretation and translation aignments.They also offer cultural awarene to FBI employees.

New Zealand\'s government announced a 40% hike in tobacco taxes over the next 4 years, the Daily Mail of London reported.Cigarette prices in New Zealand are already among the highest in the world, and by 2016 they will top about RMB89 per pack on average.Officials hope higher taxes will bring the nation closer to a recent pledge to snuff out the habit entirely by 2025.Smoking rates among New Zealand adults have fallen from about 30% in 1986 to about 20% today.
