Good evening, teachers and fellow students.It’s my honor to stand here and give you a short speech .Today, my topic is “picking up your dreams”.I hope you will like it.
When I was a small boy, I had many big and significant (有意义的)dreams.“I want to be a scientist”, “I want to be a policeman”……these words had been written many times in my writing courses.On that time, I did not know what the difficult is, I can’t understand what challenge means.So that, I dare to dream and fight for it.However, I gradually（渐渐地） get my dreams lost in the proce of growing up.I know more about the world and understand the reality deeper.I began to be afraid of failure and the ridicule（嘲笑） from others.Just like this, I say goodbye unconsciously（不知不觉地） to those distant childhood dreams, but I know we will meet again.Now, I am stepping into another important time, a time of beauty, strength and paion.“it is time for you to do something”, the voice crept into my mind（潜入我的头脑）.It is time to pick up my dreams and pursuit it.
Life is a boat, the dream is the boat sail（船帆）.When I had a view on these great men in the history of human beings, I realized that they are dreamers who never yield（屈服） to the difficulties and dare to be great.Maybe we can not catch
up with the great men, but achieving our own dreams is also a kind of succe.Maybe we can not reach the high degree that we expected finally, but better than yesterday is also an improvement.Lord knows, dreams are hard to follow, but don’t let anyone tear them away.（老天知道，追梦的旅程是艰辛的，但他不会让人们轻易放弃他们的梦想）
Tonight, standing here is my first step；I will continue my journey of pursuing dream with confidence and courage.Wake, oh awaken! My friends, pick up your dreams and let not the time pa in vain!（醒来吧，朋友们，重拾你们的梦想，不让青春虚度）
At last, I want to share one saying with you, which is “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”.I hope our dreams will come true.
