Reason for Applying for extension of study I would like to apply for extension of PhD thesis proposal aement due to difficulties in data collection and analysis as follows since my thesis is employing a corpus-aisted approach to understanding interpreters’ underlying cognition.First, it takes a huge amount of time to transcribe the interpreting recordings and build the transcripts into a real corpus, which needs to be cleaned, segmented, aligned, and tagged.Second, it is also a time-consuming task to make sense of the data.Last, a lot of time will be demanded in writing the PhD thesis proposal.
