On the one hand, Movie Appreciation is designed for the improvement of students ’listening and speaking.On the other hand, it contributes to learning culture of English speaking countries.After learning this interesting leon, not only does our English skill get improved, but also we know more about western culture.Besides, we could learn how to appreciate a movie in detail instead of saying boring” great” or “terrible”.Actually, I think our Movie Appreciation is not so perfect, MR.Chen is well-prepared every time though.There are some suggestions following.
In my opinion, there are three main aspects of the problem.The Selection of Film
I think MR.Chen selected films tend to choose those that are named “Chicken Soup for the soul”.It can’t be denied that this kind of movies can give people inspiration, but we have seen so much this kind movie since we learn English.As a result, I think they are boring.It will be much better if other types are recommended.Ps, I really don\'t like romances.
Background Knowledge Maybe some funny introduction of the background would enable students to understand the film more deeply.Before the appreciation of the film, a forthright introduction is considerate, including the social and historical background, the creative staff introduction, actor and actre, the story plot synopsis introduction, the film tells the story of the film prizes.A Trailer before we see the movie will be very attractive! Every outstanding English film has its own style and characteristics.If we are informed of the bright spots of the film, it will be much more easily for us to focus on appreciating the moive.These are just personal opinions.I hope they will help on a certain degree.
