I’m so excited to have the opportunity to study in the University of Sheffield, especially to have the chance to apply for the scholarship of your school.And I really cherish this opportunity.
As an undergraduate of Civil Engineering, I’m always eager to purchase any chances to study natural science, Social Sciences, and the humanities, and to put my knowledge into practice.Since the major Civil Engineering is really a comprehensive discipline and it links all the human activities together.When we need to build a new construction in a certain place, we need to consider what the people will do, what natural disasters will threaten it, even how serious terrorist attacks it can bear.This means that a civil engineering student needs to complete his or her framework of knowledge about relevant disciplines.I realized it when I entered the college for my undergraduate program.So I paid attention to other subjects relevant to civil engineering, such as biology, geography and phytology.Because a kind of creatures in a certain area will tell you how the environment is.And the knowledge of geography shows the different natural disasters in different areas.In addition, phytology helps you to cognize what kind of soil in a certain area by cognizing the plants, without analyzing the soil under the ground.All this information helps people design new constructions in a certain condition.Besides, they help you to make taller, stronger, more spacious, and more powerful constructions.
An excellent structural engineer ought to be practically experienced.In order to become a capable engineer, we need to practice at the construction site and the architectural design institute.So, I began to try to find any chances to take an engineering practice in The Architectural Design and Research Institute of HIT from this year on.In this institute, one of the best architectural design and research institutes in China, not only can I learn the profeional knowledge, but also I can learn how to cooperate with my colleagues, how to get along well with my leaders, and how to deal with the work in this institute well while I am doing my graduation project.I really felt that the engineering practice could make me more capable and more experienced, as well as closer my dream.
Whenever we make a design of a construction, we must take the responsibility for the security of people’s lives and aets.This means that we have no choice but to make the design seriously.What’s more, the course which I chose can make me a feeling of both achievement and pride.Since designing and building new constructions is to change the aspect of the world and the style in which people live.Naturally, the desire for Civil Engineering urges me to pursue further study.I was really excited when I got the offer from the University of Sheffield, especially when I knew that I had the opportunity to apply for the scholarship in your school.

have already cultivated a studious attitude, critical thinking and skill on research during my undergraduate study.So far, I have been confident in my academic performance in MSc program.When I step out the University of Sheffield after my MSc study, I will try my best to create new techniques for my profeional area and make my contribution to society.Hopefully, my career achievement will benefit the corresponding people and promote the reputation of my University of Sheffield.
