许多同学常常感叹学习的枯燥与无味,重要原因之一就是心中缺少了激情。 假如梦想没有激情,事业将一片荒芜;

假如心灵没有激情,生活将平淡无奇;

Facing this audience on the stage, I have the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere competition or contest. It is an aembly of some of China\'s most talented and motivated people, representatives of a younger generation that are preparing themselves for the coming of a new century.

I\'m grateful that I\'ve been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well.

Though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, I believe, the root of a spirit which has been eential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years.

In my elementary years, there was a little girl in the cla who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her leons.

The teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me.but as a young boy, restle, thoughtle, I always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.

One day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, \"Could you please explain this to me? I want very much to do better this time.\" I started explaining, and finished in a hurry.Pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, I ran off quickly.Nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam. And two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer. No one ever knew about the little task I failed to fulfill, but I couldn\'t forgive myself.I simply couldn\'t forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, \"Why didn\'t you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? Why didn\'t you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that I would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret?\"

I was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it

was the very starting point of my life, for I began to understand the word \"responsibility\" and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.

Later in my life, I continued to experience many failures. But never again did I feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that I have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best I can.

As I grew up, changed and improved by this incident and many other similar ones, I began to perceive the changes taking place around me and to find that society, in a way, was in its formative years like myself.New buildings, new commodities and new fashions appear every day.

New ideas, new information, new technologies.People can talk with each other from any corner of the earth in a matter of seconds.Society is becoming more competitive.

Words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts.Such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures.

Such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it.Yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.

We learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not aisting. We hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who can\'t even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.

We buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthle junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility.

Such an era, therefore, determines that we are a generation with a keener sense of competition and efficiency and a greater readine to think critically and act creatively.

Such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggreive will to take action and solve the problems.History has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity.

Standing here now, I think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student.Probably I\'ll be an ordinary man for the rest of my life. But this doesn\'t discourage me any, for I know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, it\'s going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that I will be living.

Standing here now, I think of the past 15 years of this nation, which has achieved greatne that inspired millions of people of my age, most of whom will not attain fame or prestige and only a few of whom will be remembered by posterity. But that doesn\'t discourage us any, because we know that the world watches, the world listens, the world is waiting to see where this nation will be heading in a time of rich opportunities and fierce competition.

I can\'t ever forget that little girl in my cla who couldn\'t had the same opportunities as any of us here to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world tomorrow.

It is the sacred responsibility of this generation to face up to the challenges of the new century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom and paion, to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for every one of us.

We are not going to evade that responsibility. We are going to let people down. And people, far and near, will hear of us.Frost will be brought to their backbones and tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold, So let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory and glory.

What Is Real Beauty?

Yang Lingyuan

It is human nature that all of us should be fond of beauty.Everybody was born with a heart for beauty.Today in China, with the rising of our living standard, people's requirement of beauty has been heightened accordingly. Some people spare no money or energy on beautiful clothes, fashionable hair styles, the decoration of their houses and even the improvement of their looks. But it seems to me,all

these are more or le confined to the beauty in appearance,or rather, the outward beauty.

In my opinion,we shouldn't only pay attention to beautiful appearance and neglect the beautification of the mind and what we are after should be the perfect unity of the outward beauty and the inner beauty. As we all know,so far as objects and animals are concerned, there is only beautiful appearance to be mentioned, but to us humanbeings, although the outward beauty really matters, the inner beauty is much more important. This was confirmed by a famous Ruian writer in words much like this: "A person is

not lovely for being beautiful but beautiful for being lovely."

Here, I'd like to quote two typical instances and I'm sure, my dear friends, from them you'll find out what real beauty is.

Recently I learned from the radio an unpleasant incident about a well known singer. She is very charming with a sweet beautiful voice and very famous for singing the song."Devotion of Love".Not long ago,she was invited to Zhejiang province to give performance. The moment she was to appear on the stage, she suddenly asked for more reward.Worse still, after her request was satisfied, she didn't begin to sing at once.Instead, she took her time to count all the money piece by piece. Thus she kept the audience waiting for half an hour.So when she at last showed up and started to sing "Devotion of Love",a man rose up from his seat and shouted at her,"You don't have any devotion of love. You are not qualified to sing this song ! "Hearing this, the singer stopped singing and began to shout abuses with her finger pointed at the man.At this time the whole audience burst into an uproar.

How disappointed her keen listeners were when they learned this! It is the singer herself who spoiled her beautiful image in the eyes of others.

Now, I'm coming to another true story. It's about a poor, ordinary looking old woman. She was a widow without any children, living barely from hand to mouth by picking odds and ends from rubbish heaps. However, she took in more than ten homele orphans succeively and managed to bring them up.Every day she labored from morning till night. In order to earn as much money as poible to raise the children and to keep them in school, she even went to a hospital regularly to sell her blood. She got so weak for the lo of blood that she sometimes fell in a faint on her way home.

When asked why she chose to burden herself with so many children, she smiled and simply answered,"Oh,I love children and I like to have their company."

Though the old woman was poor materially, she was full of affection and rich in spirit. She was loved dearly by her children. She was also highly appreciated by the local government, and truly respected by people in her community.

Maybe you can't help wondering, "What makes that ordinary woman so extraordinary?" It is nothing else but her inner beauty, her true devotion of love without any thought of rewarding. What a sharp contrast there is between the great woman and the selfish singer]

So,to answer the question "What is real beauty?", I declare definitely,it is the beauty lying in one's heart of hearts and embodied in his actions and deeds, that is,the inner heauty!

Learn How to Say No

We've all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We can't say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure.Sometimes we simply don't have the time to help.In this case, we must know how to say no politely.

When we need to say no, here is one method we can try.First, we should tell the truth. If we really can't do something, we should just say so.Second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic.A true friend will understand. Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no.Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do.It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time.Refusing favors is a part of life.

I Regain Confidence

By Li Jun (李军青岛海洋大学)

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years.I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me: "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." My life has never been the same since.I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something miing.

As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party.Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English.Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use.As the dwarf, I was a big hit.

Yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique.Cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.

A world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. The real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawle charming girl.

Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world.I'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites.I would rather be myself.I would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe.please, be yourself.

Enjoy Yourself While Fulfilling Responsibility

By Wang Yu

In my 18 years of life, there have been many things.University days are the best part of them.I can never forget the days when I stepped into my university.I was impreed by its garden-like campus, its enthusiastic students and especially its learning atmosphere.I at once fell in love with it.After the arduous military training, I get absolutely absorbed in my studies. The claes given by the teachers are excellent. They provide us with information not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well. They easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as I can.

Frankly speaking, at first I had some difficulty following the teachers. However, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers' guidance, I made remarkable progre. Now I've benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.

Learning is a long proce; I'll keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. This summer I got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world.A publishing house offered me a part-time job in compilation and revision.

At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they were really surprised when I translated seven English articles over 5,000 words on only one day.Gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes.In their opinion I turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.

I also realize that only those who bring happine for others can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare.I once went to a barren mountain village with my clamates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school. While showing them how broad and how civilized the outer world is, I was deeply touched by their eagerne to learn, their honesty and their purity.I couldn't control my tears on the day when we left. The precious experience with the poor kids made me aware of the responsibility on the shoulders of us, future teachers.

Besides study and social practice, there are entertainments as well.I do body building every day, hoping to keep healthy and energetic. We also write a play and put it on in our spare time.

Campus life is the most splendid time. But different people have different choices. The majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish the hope that one day they'll become outstanding. But there are indeed some students still under ignorance. They gather together for eating, drinking or playing cards. They're busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. They forget completely about their miion as college students and the hope of their motherland.

Finally, I do hope everybody can try their best to become a worthy citizen of the country.I do hope everybody can become the backbone of our nation and make great contributions to society!

全国大学生英语演讲比赛演讲稿 im grateful that ive been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well. though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which has been eential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years. in my elementary years, there was a little girl in the cla who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her leons. one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, could you please explain this to me? i want very much to do better this time.i started explaining, and finished in a hurry.pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly.nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam.and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer.no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldnt forgive myself.i simply couldnt forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, why didnt you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? why didnt you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret? i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word responsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society. later in my life, i continued to experience many failures.but never again did i feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that i have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best i can. words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts.such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures. such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it.yet in the meantime, many problems still exist. we learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not aisting.we hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who cant even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars. we buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthle junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility. such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggreive will to take action and solve the problems.history has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity. standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student.probably ill be an ordinary man for the rest of my life.but this doesnt discourage me any, for i know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, its going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that i will be living. i cant ever forget that little girl in my cla who couldnt had the same opportunities as any of us here to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world tomorrow. it is the sacred responsibility of this generation to face up to the challenges of the new century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom and paion, to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for every one of us. we are not going to evade that responsibility.we are going to let people down.and people, far and near, will hear of us.frost will be brought to their backbones and tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold, so let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory and glory.篇2:全国大学生英语英语演讲比赛第一名 顾秋蓓 演讲稿 全国大学生英语英语演讲比赛第一名 顾秋蓓 演讲稿 a scene to remember gu qiubei the way from america to africa to do a 2) census about mountain 3) gorillas.these gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of 4) poaching and being put into the zoo.she went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures.she witneed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged weve ever been, where in the very depth of the african rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies. yes, thats a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs.dian foey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life. to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timele reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment. all these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else.a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of gra where no one seem to have been except the deer. and no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, theres always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it. thank you very much.篇3:全国英语演讲比赛一等奖,清华大学曹丰 英语演讲稿 our future: a battle between dreams and reality good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen: when i was in the primary school, i have a dream.i want to invent a device which could bring you from one place to another in no time at all.when i was in the secondary school, my dream was to study in my ideal university.and when eventually i got into the university, my dream was to graduate. ladies and gentlemen, the reality is not real.it is a barrier keeping us from all the poible fantasies.flying, for example, had been a dream to mankind for thousands of years.a hundred years ago, man could not fly was still regarded as the reality.now if that was really the reality, what did the wright brothers do? how did some of you get to macau? only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams. people say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams.and if, unfortunately, mr.reality wins this war, then i see no future of mankind at all.aids will never be curable as this is the reality; people living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this is the reality; 4)disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance is the reality. 主持人:thank you. 曹丰:thank you. 问题:now in the age of the internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.do you think people can learn as much on the internet as they can by reading books?which method do you prefer? 回答:thank you very much.and hello again ladies and gentlemen.actually,i dont really agree with the first sentence of this topic:in the age of the internet, reading books does not seem as important as it was once.why?why is it the case?why is it the situation, ladies and gentlemen?actually, internet or books are just like tea or coffee.they are similar, but they are different.unibersity students nowdays love to use the internet to search for information when they are working with their eays.like, last semester, when i was working with my physics eay,i logged into google and i searched for newton and all the laws and theories of newton just popped out and i can choose whichever one i like to use.but when i walked into the library, all the books came out and i have to choose which one to read.how inconvenient!maybe you can say at this moment,oh,internet is better, books no use.so i have to use internet, right?but lets see the things in another way.i love traveling a lot and i love to bring a book with me.and i love to read my da vinci code when i was having my trip on a bus or on a ship.actually, whenever it is,wherever you go,whatever you are doing, you can take out a book and read if you feel like doing so.now who will bother to take a laptop and switch it on,and search for the internet connection, and look for stories to read.how inconvenient!so at this very moment i think its quite dangerous for me,because i think im unable to answer the question in the topicwhich method do you prefer, internet or books?because i love the feeling of conjuring a hundred pages of harry potter, more than scrolling down the screen;but at the same time i love the feeling of searching the things, the speed of my searching for things on the internet, more than wasting my time in the library.so in this age of internet,in this age of modernization,in this age of civilization, why do you have to force someone to choose between internet and books?i prefer using both of them.thank you very much. 问题:contestant no.13.thank you very much for encouraging us to be unrealistic dreamers(thank you) and not surrender to mr.reality.(hehe..) with the traffic jam getting worse--especially in big cities--im actually very interested in your childhood dream:to invent a device that can move people around easily.is this still your dream?if not,why do you give it up?is it because it is considered unrealistic?thank you. 回答:thank you very much.this is not my dream now.not because it is (not), realistic.maybe you can say its unrealistic.but if i,my interest is still inventing this device,i will keep on trying my best to invent this decive.my changing of my dreams is because of the fact that i realized my interest does not lie in science.now i am a law school student.but last semester,as ive just mentioned,i was working on my physics eay paper and actually last semester i was a student in the school of aerospace.oh my god, aerospace!and ive changed my major to law school.and so 问题:thank you very much for your speeches.talding about internet,i just want to know your view.do you believe everything is ture on the internet?if not,why not? 回答:thank you very much.i dont believe everything is true in the internet.this is a straight forward answer.and if not,why not?because i dont believe them.and i have an experience of meeting someone on the internet who claims to be a girl.yes and,a very sad, sorry story for me.but yes,for this reason,i think i dont believe that everything on the internet is true.but i will try my best to discover if that was true or not,or that was falsified or not.thank you very much. 问题:contestant no.13.thank you very much for your speeches.you were talking about dreams being realistic or unrealistic and your current dream is to graduate from law school.but what is your realistic or unrealistic dream after that?what do you want to use your graduation in law for? 回答:thank you very much.actually,my dream,as mentioned in the last part of my speech,is to share my feelings, share my dreams with the globe.and when all the people in this earth have my dream, they will work hard for the social betterment,i believe in that.so after ive graduated from law school,i think i will try my best to persuade the others to,to accept my dream, and that is exactly why i am here.i am here trying to persuade you all,i think you all, after listening to my speech, hopefully, you can try to understand my dream and that we are all a member of the global village, and we have to try our best to work hard for the social betterment of all.this is why i want to be,saying, speaking something here, and that is my goal--or realistic or unrealistic dream after ive graduated.i think i will try my best to du what ive said before.thank you very much.

croing the sea good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.the title of my speech today is croing the sea.an english poet by the name of rudyard kipling once wrote in his poem we and they: all the people like us are we and everyone else is they we live over the sea while they live over the way we eat pork and beef with cowhorn-handled knives they who gobble their rice off a leaf are horrified out of their lives. when these lines first caught my eyes, i was shocked-how could two peoples remain so isolated and ignorant of each other in the past? todays society, of course, is an entirely different picture.those people who used to eat with cowhorn-handled knives might be very skillful in using chopsticks, and those people who used to gobble their rice might be as well have taken to fish and chips. indeed, just take china as an example: our modern life has been influenced by western style of living in so many ways that its no longer surprising to see teenagers going crazy about rock-and-roll, whole families dining out at mcdonalds and even rather elderly people dreed in apple jeans. however, these are only some expreions of the cultural changes taking place in our society today.what is really going on is a subtle but significant restructuring of the nations mentality.just look around. it is therefore evident that we as descendants of an ancient eastern civilization are already living under strong inf1uence of the western culture.but it is not only in china that we find the incorporation of the two cultures. take the chinese acupuncture as another example: this traditional treatment of diseases is finally finding its way to the west and hence the underlying notion that illne is resulted from the imbalance between yin and yang within the body -- an idea which would strike any westerner as incredible in the past! ladies and gentlemen, we live in a great epoch when the global integration of economy and the information revolution have brought cultures of the world closer than ever before.we live in a particular era when countries, east and west, find themselves in need of readjusting their traditional values.we live, at the same time, at a critical juncture of our evolution because such problems as ethnic conflicts and regional unrest are increasingly posing a threat to the peace and happine of the whole human race.to cope with such an era and to embrace an even brighter therefore, it is our sacred responsibility to promote the cultural exchanges and hence the mutual understanding between china and the rest of the world. it is my happiest dream that the new generation of chinese will not only grow up drinking coca-cola and watching hollywood, but also be bleed with the far-reaching benefits of multiple cultures; benefits that our forefathers had never, ever dreamed of. to end my speech, i would like to quote rudyard kipling again: all the people like us are we and everyone else is they but once you cro over the sea you will end by looking on we as only a sort of they thank you.

谁不是铁下篇5:全国大学生英语演讲比赛演讲稿 dream is my top concern honorable judges , fellow students: good evening! i’m number xxx --wangxi who is major in chemistry and biology .i’m glad to be here to share my speech today. what’s your top concern? maybe the answer of a father is his family and of a mother is her children, for the young adults , maybe a good job、a bright future or endle fortune is their top concern ,and you may tell me that your girlfriend or your boyfriend is your top concern, after all, love is beautiful right? but i was expected to hear a loud voice here to tell me that“dream is my top concern”。

How to Be Popular

Most people would like to be popular with others, but not everyone can achieve this goal. What is the secret to popularity? In fact, it is very simple. The first step is to improve our appearance. We should always make sure that we stay in good shape and dre well. When we are healthy and well-groomed, we will not only look better but also feel better. In addition, we should smile and appear friendly. After all, our facial expreion is an important part of our appearance. If we can do this, people will be attracted to our good looks and impreed by our confidence.

Another important step is developing more consideration for others. We should always put others first and place their interests before our own.It\'s also important to be good listeners; in this way people will feel comfortable enough to confide in us.However, no matter what we do, we must not goip.Above all, we must remember to be ourselves, not phonies.Only by being sincere and respectful of others can we earn their respect. If we can do all of the above, I am sure popularity will come our way.

I believe in our future

Honorable Judges, fellow students:

Good afternoon!

Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?

The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.

The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth.Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.

As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country.I believe in all my fellow clamates.Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish.I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. We are preparing to aume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place.I believe in our future.

Change The Ingredients Of Your Life

This is a gla of water, tastele, right? However if you add sugar, it will taste sweet, but if you add vinegar, it will become bitter. The same is true with our life____ the flavor is created by our choices.

If kindne is added to a strange you will have a friend; but if hostility is added, you will have an enemy. If love is added to a pile of red bricks you will have a home, but if hatred is add to those bricks , you will have an concentration camp.

So my dear friends, never complain that life is boring and the world is disappointing. If don’t like the taste of your life, change the ingredients.

Three year ago, I weighed more than 100 hundred kilograms which caused significant embarrament and frustration in my life.Like always failing my P.E examinations, like always being laughed at by girls, like being terrified to speak in public. It was my grandmother’s encouragement that revived from my paive attitude to become confident in myself. She said “ My dear, if you can’t change you figure, why not treat it as your own style. So I began to cautiously employ the new way of thinking.By choosing to change my outlook on life, I developed the confidence to make a difference and finally I found a totally new world.

So my dear friend, if faith, hope, love, endurance are added to your life, you will find the confidence to conquer your limitation and embrace new challenges. And hopefully with my speech included, you will have a fantastic speech contest.

The East and the West, Let’s enjoy the combination of the two cultures?

Kipling said:“East is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!” But now, a century later, they have met.

They have met in busine. They have met in education. They have met in the arts. Some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but I believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. We can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use.We can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.

I love Beijing and Hennan opera because it always reminds me of who I am.But I am also a fan of pop music, especially English songs. So I have combined eastern melody with western language. It is called western henna opera.

When two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. When this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. Then there are certain things some people may not like.To this, I will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it.To learn to tolerate what you personally don’t like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. Before us, there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures. At present, they may run in different courses. But eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.

Right now, I can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the Olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow! Thank you!

Farewell, Indifference

Who was the most well-known figure in China last month? It’s Ma JiaJue—the college student who murdered 4 of his roommates. Many people attributed his crime to his poverty and deficient education. In my opinion, his crime also has much to do with his clamates’ indifference.

Indifference is a terrible disease in today’s colleges and the whole society. It’s not rare that two students who have studied together for 4 years have never spoken to each other. It’s not rare that a student who has been absent from cla for several days is not noticed at all. It’s also not rare that a student who has severe psychological problems is not cared about at all.

Some people may say ‘What the students with psychological problems like Ma JiaJue need is not care but psychotherapy.” However, when people are ill, what they need most is not only medical treatment, but also care from people around them.Every smile and every caring word will bring sunshine to their life.

I once heard one of my roommates who was an introverted girl sobbing at mid-night.Being afraid of disturbing her, I sent a text meage to comfort her.The next day, she told me that she was crying for not being invited to one of her friend’s birthday party. She thought she was neglected by others. But my meage was really comforting which told her someone still cared about her.

What can we do to prevent the tragedy of Ma JiaJue from happening again? Some people may say ‘Let’s open more psychological courses in schools.’ and other people may say ‘Let’s donate more money for the poor students.’ But I’ll say “My fellow student, let’s give more love and care to our roommates, our clamates and every person around us!”

I Am Tripping My Elephant Here

Once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way.As he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. He looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him.Quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out.A sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: “Hey, chicken! Watch out your leg, it’s out!” The ant felt embarraed at first but then calmly responded: “ Shi„I am going to trip that elephant.”

Right now, I’m standing on this glamorous stage. But everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory.Around this time last year I was in Nanjing competing in another speech contest. That was the first time for me to be in such a large event.Of course the preure I was under was immense too. After a sleeple and streful night, I went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. That speech turned out to be horrible.I don’t remember how I get down from there, but I do remember afterwards I just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story.Back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. Thanks to all the help I got from my special friends. My confidence was restored. After rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, I am here today. From all that I’ve been through I’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if I want my life to go on well I have to let go of my past failure. So today, with out fear, I am tripping my elephant again.

Hold Fast To Your Dreams

I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every vally shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the proce of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams.

However, we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent poibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most succeful people are dreamers as well as ordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions.Well, just start with concrete objectives and stick to it.Don’t let the namele fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of future.Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance and through our creativity, we will make it.

Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow.So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams.Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.

Make Every Moment Count

One night, I complained to my mom about the lack of time. Finally she said,\"you are short of time just because you waste precious minutes on complaints and anxiety. The point is, no matter how full your schedule is, if you try really hard, you can always fit in some thing more.\"

It is the same with filling the jar.Even if you place a dozen fist-sized rocks and a bucket of gravel into the jar, there is still space for sand and water between the rocks and gravel.

The lack of time is just the excuse for my negligence of every single minute.I believe that the great dividing line between succe and failure can be expreed in six words,\"I did not have enough time.\"The fact is I do have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein. The point is I have never touched upon the real meaning of life which lies in snatching, seizing and enjoying every minute of it.No idlene, no delay, no procrastination, no complaint! It is during my moments of complaining or hesitation that my destiny is shaped.Once I make full use of every moment, I believe that, my worries will be gradually cut down to nothing.

Time is the most valuable of all our poeions, but the most perishable as well.As Henry David Thoreau said,\"You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment.\"

Whenever I fell the lack of time in the future, I will tell myself \"Carpe diem , seize the day, make every moment count.\"

Beggars Today

Beggars are one of the most familiar groups in every city. They accompany us from our childhood until now, and I\'ve found both the beggars and I change in this journey.

Years ago as a little girl, when I came acro some old and disabled beggars on the road, I\'d donate some pocket money to them, happily thinking I was helping.

I have grown older, I\'ve found the number of beggars has grown larger and they are more diverse. They appear in every corner of the city, on the overbridge, on the street, near restaurants, and even at your door.In contrast with the old days, it seems like the situation with beggars today is more complicated, which has made me hesitate before deciding whether to help them or not.

It\'s hard for me to give them money considering some who appear beggars in day time but dre up and go to fancy restaurants at night; and some who are controlled by some illegal organization and the money they get all goes to the organization. If I help them, I\'d be making the problem worse, I\'d be doing harm to the society, indirectly. But it\'s also hard not to give them money, considering there\'re real beggars who really need help.If I don\'t help them, who will? And where is my sympathy?

What hurts me the most is not how hard it is to distinguish the real help-seekers from the many false ones, but that some children are forced by adults, sometimes even their parents, to beg. They grow up despised by the world, out of mainstream society. When I see their eyes filled with desperation and impudence instead of purity and innocence, my heart sinks. We don\'t know how they will face the world when they grow up, how this will shape their characters, and what they may do to the society, to perpetuate this cycle of violence.

Months ago the Fu Jian government has promulgated a new policy to deal with 8 kinds of beggars. An internet survey shows that over 80% of voters reacted positively toward the policy. We know that one single policy cannot solve a problem as complex as this one, but we do look forward to some improvement.I wish all humanity can live like human.

My Views on Receiving Education

In my early years, I did not see the value of education.

When I was going on thirteen, I started to run my own shop. From then on, I worked hard to become a succeful busineman.

One day I realized the importance of the English language in the busine world and started taking night claes.

I was able to communicate well with foreign customers after two years of English study. But I started to feel that, in the long run, having a limited knowledge of English was not enough to make my busine succeful.I knew that only a well- rounded education could guarantee my succe in the future.

When I was eighteen, I had to make a decision to continue doing busine or go back to school. There was one obstacle keeping me from getting an advanced education.I had only completed elementary school up to that point.I then went back to senior high school after four months of tutoring in different subjects.Being at school for the first time after so many years was somewhat embarraing because my clamates were at least two or three years younger than I.I concluded that my age did not matter. The important thing was getting into college.

I took the College Entrance Exams.Although my math exam result was only one point below the required score.I never gave up hope. The following year, I took it again and received the highest score in my city.Achieving such an amazing result gave me encouragement and courage neceary to continue my education to the next step.

I am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. My paion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as I continue to live.

“Live and Learn.” is the motto I have adopted.I believe with an education I will succeed. So, if you are wondering whether education is important, don’t hesitate a moment to step up and seize the opportunity.

ƪһ£º(Ãâ·Ñ)È«¹ú´óѧÉúÓ¢ÓïÑݽ²±ÈÈüÑݽ²¸å È«¹ú´óѧÉúÓ¢ÓïÑݽ²±ÈÈüÑݽ²¸å im grateful that ive been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well.though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, i believe, the root of a spirit which has been eential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years.in my elementary years, there was a little girl in the cla who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her leons.the teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me.but as a young boy, restle, thoughtle, i always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.one day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, could you please explain this to me? i want very much to do better this time.i started explaining, and finished in a hurry.pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, i ran off quickly.nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam.and two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer.no one ever knew about the little task i failed to fulfill, but i couldnt forgive myself.i simply couldnt forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, why didnt you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? why didnt you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that i would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret? i was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for i began to understand the word responsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.later in my life, i continued to experience many failures.but never again did i feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that i have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best i can.words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts.such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures.such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it.yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.we learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not aisting.we hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who cant even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.we buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthle junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility.such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggreive will to take action and solve the problems.history has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity.standing here now, i think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student.probably ill be an ordinary man for the rest of my life.but this doesnt discourage me any, for i know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, its going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that i will be living.i cant ever forget that little girl in my cla who couldnt had the same opportunities as any of us here to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world tomorrow.it is the sacred responsibility of this generation to face up to the challenges of the new century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom and paion, to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for every one of us.we are not going to evade that responsibility.we are going to let people down.and people, far and near, will hear of us.frost will be brought to their backbones and tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold, so let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory and glory.ƪ¶þ£ºÈ«¹ú´óѧÉúÓ¢ÓïÓ¢ÓïÑݽ²±ÈÈüµÚÒ»Ãû ¹ËÇïÝí Ñݽ²¸å you get to macau? only when we believe that the reality is not real can we soar with our dreams. people say that our future is a battle between the reality and our dreams.and if, unfortunately, mr.reality wins this war, then i see no future of mankind at all.aids will never be curable as this is the reality; people living in the undeveloped countries will suffer from starvation forever as this is the reality; 4)disputes among different countries would never be settled as this misunderstandings and intolerance is the reality. Ö÷³ÖÈË£ºthank you. ²Ü·á£ºthank you. ÎÊÌ⣺now in the age of the internet, reading books does not seem as important as it once was.do you think people can learn as much on the internet as they can by reading books?which method do you prefer? »Ø´ð£ºthank you very much.and hello again ladies and gentlemen.actually,i dont really agree with the first sentence of this topic:in the age of the internet, reading books does not seem as important as it was once.why?why is it the case?why is it the situation, ladies and gentlemen?actually, internet or books are just like tea or coffee.they are similar, but they are different.unibersity students nowdays love to use the internet to search for information when they are working with their eays.like, last semester, when i was working with my physics eay,i logged into google and i searched for newton and all the laws and theories of newton just popped out and i can choose whichever one i like to use.but when i walked into the library, all the books came out and i have to choose which one to read.how inconvenient!maybe you can say at this moment,oh,internet is better, books no use.so i have to use internet, right?but lets see the things in another way.i love traveling a lot and i love to bring a book with me.and i love to read my da vinci code when i was having my trip on a bus or on a ship.actually, whenever it is,wherever you go,whatever you are doing, you can take out a book and read if you feel like doing so.now who will bother to take a laptop and switch it on,and search for the internet connection, and look for stories to read.how inconvenient!so at this very moment i think its quite dangerous for me,because i think im unable to answer the question in the topicwhich method do you prefer, internet or books?because i love the feeling of conjuring a hundred pages of harry potter, more than scrolling down the screen;but at the same time i love the feeling of searching the things, the speed of my searching for things on the internet, more than wasting my time in the library.so in this age of internet,in this age of modernization,in this age of civilization, why do you have to force someone to choose between internet and books?i prefer using both of them.thank you very much. ÎÊÌ⣺contestant no.13.thank you very much for encouraging us to be uealistic dreamers(thank you) and not surrender to mr.reality.(hehe..) with the traffic jam getting worse--especially in big cities--im actually very interested in your childhood dream:to invent a device that can move people around easily.is this still your dream?if not,why do you give it up?is it because it is considered uealistic?thank you. ÎÊÌ⣺thank you very much for your speeches.talding about internet,i just want to know your view.do you believe everything is ture on the internet?if not,why not? »Ø´ð£ºthank you very much.i dont believe everything is true in the internet.this is a straight forward answer.and if not,why not?because i dont believe them.and i have an experience of meeting someone on the internet who claims to be a girl.yes and,a very sad, sorry story for me.but yes,for this reason,i think i dont believe that everything on the internet is true.but i will try my best to discover if that was true or not,or that was falsified or not.thank you very much. ÎÊÌ⣺contestant no.13.thank you very much for your speeches.you were talking about dreams being realistic or uealistic and your current dream is to graduate from law school.but what is your realistic or uealistic dream after that?what do you want to use your graduation in law for? »Ø´ð£ºthank you very much.actually,my dream,as mentioned in the last part of my speech,is to share my feelings, share my dreams with the globe.and when all the people in this earth have my dream, they will work hard for the social betterment,i believe in that.so after ive graduated from law school,i think i will try my best to persuade the others to,to accept my dream, and that is exactly why i am here.i am here trying to persuade you all,i think you all, after listening to my speech, hopefully, you can try to understand my dream and that we are all a member of the global village, and we have to try our best to work hard for the social betterment of all.this is why i want to be,saying, speaking something here, and that is my goal--or realistic or uealistic dream after ive graduated.i think i will try my best to du what ive said before.thank you very much.

there is only one failure called never try What is succe? Different people have different ideas. You may say succe is the realization of one\'s hopesand justified goals.Under such notion, however, people have different understanding of succe because the hopes and goals they cherish vary from one another.there may ba so mangy kinds of succe in the world that i can\'t enumerate them all.So maybe it\'s difficult to set a defination for succe. But ,in my opinion,it\'s easy to define what is failure---there is only one failure called never try.Everyone has his dreams but not all of them dare to make it come true.Just like a huter aimed at his game but never fire or a soldier who crying out but never toward. They are afraid of failure that they might encounter. That reminds me of a game we used to play.We put the chairs in a circle. And the player must pa through th barriers made by the chairs with his eyes covered up.He would be allowed to memorize the positions of the chairs. But as soon as his eyes is covered,we will remove all the chairs.Sometimes, our life is just like such kind of game.We tried our best not to bump against the barriers. But these things turn out to be existing only in our minds. And sometimes,we made them for ourselves. We dare not to participate a competition or get cold feet to call the boy or girl we love.It turns out that the barriers we made for ourselves lead to the lo of a lot of things.Don\'t give up trying untill you really bump against the chairs.Even so,at least you have a place to sit on.Some people would say i tried but i failed to pa an exam or to find a job.I\'am a failure .But on the contrary,i prefer to call these things setbacks instead of failures. There is no failure in a winner \'s dictionary. It doesn\'t matter i you have a tumble , what really matters is that you lose the courage to stand up and give it another try.The proce is full of tears and pains.Just look back on how we learn to walk when we are young. If we gave up easily, today we may only crawl .If Tomas Edison gave up easily in finding a proper material to make a bulb, maybe we will live in the darkne after the sunset.Perhaps we need some torches to go on with our competition.I,myself,a shy person by nature who easily suffers from stage fright, had to get up my courage to take part in this speech contest like this.I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not coming here. But i chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here i am.I will try my best because i know i would broaden my horizon and make a lot of friends here.I still remember the first time i sang a song at a party ,the first time talking to a foreign friends, the first time made a speech on the platform, etc.Although at first they almost scared me to death, but when it was over,i feel it\'s worthing trying. There is a saying goes,\'people often reGREt what they didn\'t do instead of what they have done.\'Forrest Gump often says,\'life is like a box of chacolate ,you never know what you are gonna get.\' I would say if the chacolate you got is not your favourite.Don\'t get upset but try the next. Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.Today I would like to begin with a story.

There was once a physical 1) therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a 2) census about mountain 3) gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of 4) poaching and being put into the zoo.She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witneed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we\'ve ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies.

Yes, that\'s a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs.Dian Foey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timele reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.

Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go.It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDp growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren\'t natural anymore.Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal.Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica.Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dre to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.

All these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resources.Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world\'s attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.

Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9) plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10) invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do.These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care.Because they still want their Mother Nature back.Because they know it still belongs to them.

This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it\'s all coming from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish.

The other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs.I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else.a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of gra where no one seem to have been except the deer.

And all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it\'s lime for us to do something, for our own and our coming generation.

Once again, I have come to think of Mrs.Dian Foey be- cause it\'s with her spirit, paion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world.

And no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there\'s always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.

Thank you very much.

Have you ever bought any food on the train? And do you ask for the receipt发票,收据 after buying it? Nowadays, all trains in China provide its paengers with receipts for commodities, but 7 years ago, things were quite different.

On 13th of October, 2004, the train T109 from Beijing to Shanghai was speeding on the railway.A graduate student bought a sausage香肠,腊肠at 1 Yuan on the train, then asked for a receipt.

“Are you kidding? It’s just one Yuan!” The crew member工作人员 was surprised.

The student, however, answered in a determined 坚决的voice, “I paid the money, so I deserve the receipt.”

“But we never give receipts on the train.’ As a result, his further request was turned down by a cold shoulder冷漠的人.

Several days later, the student sued 起诉the National Railway Ministry铁道部, for not providing receipts forpaengers. To his dismay失望, the court turned down the case 案件 for lack of evidence. But he, who majored in law at that time, believed law as a most powerful weapon, so he did not give up.Instead, he began his journey of collecting first-hand evidence by taking trains and buying commodities aboard. When his clamates were playing soccer, he was taking the train; When his clamates were buying food at McDonald’s麦当劳, he was buying food on the train; When his clamates were asking girls out, he was asking for the receipts. As he joked 开玩笑, ‘I was either taking the train or on the way to take the train.’ One month later, he appeared in the court again, with newly-collected evidence and a stronger confidence. And I gue, ladies and gentlemen, you will all cheer for the result because this time, the student won the case.Very soon, a regulation 法规about receipts on the train came out.And whatever we buy on the train now, there’s a receipt for us.

Outside the court, the student was asked, “How do you make it to the end?” He said, “As a law student, I root my faith in

law.I believe that law is there, to protect every person with no exception, and to ensure every person has a say发言权.” His words spread a strong faith in law, which is not only a doctrine主义,学说 of a law student, but also a belief that all citizens ought to hold.It is this faith that initiates the student to resort to law for a tiny iue; it is this faith that supports him to endure all the exhausting trips when collecting evidence; It is this faith that makes a seemingly “ridiculous” receipt request legal and rightful. It is this faith that helps to change our life, enhance our judicial司法 system and bring social justice.

To many, a receipt of 1 Yuan is too small to mention, however, rights are to be respected and law is to be believed in.It all starts with a tiny receipt of 1 Yuan, but we get a monumental 纪念性的case, a new regulation and a bumper丰富的 harvest in social justice. The bridge that leads a tiny start to a bumper harvest is faith, the faith in law, rightful and strong.

answer: thank you for your question.and i think the key iue is the differences between our awarene.fot example, if you want to go to a place to have a trip, enjoy your trip.and i think before you get on board, get on the bus, you can have the awarene that “i’m not a polluter, but an environment keeper.” we’re not go to all those scenic spots to destroy all those beautiful scenes but we to appreciate the mother nature giving us so much things.thank you very much. answer: well, i think, maybe, umm, i don’t think that all those technologies can replace the importance of books.we’re in our modern village where so many new industries—it industries, tourism industries—crop up every day and this brave new world seem a little bit dehumanizing and inhospitable to a lot of people.the world can no longer be defined as a place on a map or list or people in organizations but i think the true value, the eence of our village remains the same.it is the network of values relationship that support our lives and we can learn those things from our books because books is the very first beginning stage of what we learn.thank you very much. i’d like to ask you a question about your prepared speech, please.you mention that the un has declated the year 2002, i think it was, “the year of ecotourism.” do you think that such gestures really serve a purpose? answer: and i think one of my teachers said to me, when i prepared my prepared speech, and he tells me that if we pay more attention to something like environmental protection or ecotourism, it is more, it is better for us to bear in mind we should learn something in our hearts, we should have something about the awarene about how to pay more respect to our environment, not to talk about something orally but to bear something in our hearts.follow our hearts, our environment can be better.thank you very much.篇2:全国大学生英语演讲比赛一等奖演讲稿 全国大学生英语演讲比赛一等奖演讲稿 good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.today i would like to begin with a story. there was once a physical 1) therapist who traveled all the way from america to africa to do a 2) census about mountain 3) gorillas.these gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of 4) poaching and being put into the zoo.she went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures.she witneed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged weve ever been, where in the very depth of the african rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies. yes, thats a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs.dian foey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life. to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timele reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment. magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity.but on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes arent natural anymore.deforestation to heat lodges is devastating nepal.oil spills from tourist boats are polluting antarctica.tribal people are forsaking their native music and dre to listen to u2 on walkman and wear nike and reeboks. all these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resources.encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the united nations has made xx the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the worlds attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment. now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9) plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10) invalids(残疾人), some of them can not afford to send the money but they do.these are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood.why? 全国大学生英语英语演讲比赛第一名 顾秋蓓 演讲稿 a scene to remember gu qiubei shanghai international studies university advisor: gong longsheng good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.today i would like to begin with a story. there was once a physical therapist who traveled all the way from america to africa to do a census about mountain gorillas [go·ril·la || g?r?l?]n. these gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching and being put into the zoo.she went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures.she witneed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged weve ever been, where in the very depth of the african rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies. yes, thats a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called gorillas in the mist, based on a true story of mrs.dian foey, who spent most of bet lifetime in rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life. to me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timele reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems.on the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides pe ople with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go去看看每一件值得看的事情, 去任何一个值得去(或可以去)的地方。 natural scenes arent natural anymore.deforestation to heat lodges is devastating || dev?ste?t] v.毁坏nepal. oil spills from tourist boats are polluting antarctica n.南极洲.tribal adj.部落的; 种族的people are forsaking f?(r)se?k]v.放弃, 抛弃their native music and dre to listen to u2 on walkman and wear nike and reeboks.all these appalling[appal·ling |adj.骇人的, 可怕的; 十分低劣的facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by站在旁边, 旁观; 与...合力; 帮助; 支持 and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding(侵 蚀) our resources.encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the united nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the worlds attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment. now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations-- big notes, small notes or even coins-- from housewives, plumbers(水管工 人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids(残疾

we are the world,we are the future someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”.i don’t know who wrote these words, but i’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be.we are all in the position of the farmers.if we plant a good seed, we reap a good harvest.if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all. we are young.“how to spend the youth?” it is a meaningful question.to answer it, first i have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind.it’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees.it’s the matter of the will.it’s the freshne of the deep spring of life. a poet said “to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour.several days ago, i had a chance to listen to a lecture.i learnt a lot there.i’d like to share it with all of you.let’s show our right palms.we can see three lines that show how our love, career and life is.i have a short line of life.what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way.well, let’s make a fist.where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah, it is in our hands.it is held in ourselves. we all want the future to be better than the past.but the future can go better itself.don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened.from the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher.we’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it.failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way.failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder. as what i said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”.the past has gone.nothing we do will change it.but the future is in front of us.believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us.and from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “we are the world, we are the future.”
