PS的主体部分应该是铿锵有力的“金刚身”，有逻辑，有说服力，详略得当，重点突出。当你的PS开了一个好头，吸引人看下去的时候，就是主体部分起作用的时候，读者要通过PS的主体部分来进一步了解你是什么样的人，你具备哪些品质和能力等。主体部分通常包括个人经历、教育背景、工作经历、科研经历等，具体写什么内容，突出哪些部分要依个人情况来定。在写这些经历是，不要平铺直叙，仅仅罗列出你有过什么经历，你的角色和你具体做了什么，更重要的是要展现出你从这些事件或经历中学到了什么，这些经历对你的申请起到什么作用，如何去看待和评价这种经历。

第四步：结尾

困难就像古龙小说里的大反派，当你离他很远的时候，你觉得他很可怕；而当你一步一步走到他面前的时候，你会发现他不过如此。GPA2.48的人申请总结，为了梦想要奋不顾身。如果这是你一生的梦想，那它就值得你不顾一切，拼一次运气，就这一次！因为，这是梦啊！
其实这个总结早该写了，但我一贯做事拖拉，所以到了现在，来美国已经快一个学期了才写。目前应该正是申请最后的冲刺阶段，就当给大家打打气吧。 介绍一下自己，我是北大02级物理本科的，平均GPA2.48，专业GPA忘了，基本和平均GPA一样。08级北理工物理研，绩点用最高的算法，勉强到3。申请的10年秋季，有CUNY和NIU两个offer，接受了CUNY的。
在飞跃版大家都喜欢自称弱人，现在知道真正的弱人是什么样了吧。下面就说说我这个弱人的申请过程。
本科太弱就不用解释了，反正是堕落了。除了绩点低，也没有任何科研经历。结果毕业时才发现，自己这辈子的梦想仍然是做个物理学家。这时出国保研都没戏，只好考研。考了两年北大物院都落榜，估计再考也没戏，就转考北理工物理系，在08年入了学。本来想好好学习的，但是堕落了这么久，一下调整起来很困难。再加上很倒霉生了场大病，在床上趴了三个月，所以研究生绩点也彻底悲剧了。北理工的硕士只有两年，第一年上课，第二年忙申请，期间夹着考GT，所以也没做什么科研，连毕业论文都是在拿到offer之后赶着完成的。总之，专业背景是差到极点。但当时想，如果以后打算在国内拿个教职继续做物理，出国读个phd是起码的，所以也只能硬着头皮申请。 接着说说英语考试，同样悲剧。第一次GRE：320+800+2.5；IBT：76，口语15。显然要重考，但这时已经很晚了。于是我在09年的10.
24、11.1、11.7接连考了机考、托福和笔试。结果G：290+800+3.0，T：78，口语15。欲哭无泪。不过事实证明，G、T考得晚点没关系，学校基本都可以先接受非正式成绩的。我还argue了第一次T的作文和口语，结果钱白扔。没办法，还是只能收拾起心情，继续申请。
由于我办事一贯拖拉，基本上是11月份考了英语之后才开始投入申请的。所以那些deadline早的学校我就直接忽略了，我还安慰自己，那些都是好学校，我申了也没戏。事后看来，这想法是错的，申请早动手的话还是非常有利的。首先，不一定早的就难申。其次，就算deadline晚的，你越早寄材料，越有优势；很多学校都是先到先得，招满了后面的就不看了。但从另一个方面看，有很多deadline晚的学校也很不错。我实际申的学校deadline基本在1.1到2.15之间。所以前期结果不好的同学不要过早放弃希望，可以抓紧时间再申几个。 我申请过程也挺糟糕的。我之前对申请基本一无所知，完全是从头开始。选校，套磁，写PS，写简历，办成绩单，网申，寄材料，都是在一通忙乱中度过的。很多时候我都不确定对方的要求到底是什么，或者地址和收件人该怎么写，但实在没时间和精力去弄清楚了，只好把材料一寄就算了。觉得到时能有80%的学校审我的材料就心满意足了。最终一共申请了20所，均为美国学校，专业排名从50到一百多。套磁基本没有效果。很多学校的GT成绩也不够格，硬申的。最后，在回家过年之前寄出了所有的申请材料。感觉申请弄的很匆忙，如果能早点动手，有充分的时间准备，效果应该会好很多。
但我也发现，人在压力之下，潜力是巨大的。开始申请时，我看着“逃费”、“全球优先邮件”等一个个陌生的名词，就觉得头大；再看看那些复杂的网申表格、材料列表，更觉得申请简直是不可能完成的任务。但我知道，我必须一块一块的啃下这些硬骨头。那段时间常常熬夜到很晚，熬到意识都模糊了，有几次我已经明白人为什么会猝死了，是对梦想的期待让我撑过了这段日子。最后，我终于把申请的事都弄懂了。敢用skype和对方小秘打电话了，也知道跑去大钟寺买打折邮票了。当然有时也有不清楚的地方，不过那也没办法，毕竟申请中很难做到十全十美。困难就像古龙小说里的大反派，当你离他很远的时候，你觉得他很可怕；而当你一步一步走到他面前的时候，你会发现他不过如此。所以，那些对自己心存疑虑的同学，你们应该对自己更有信心。
之后就是在煎熬中等待了。很长一段时间都只有拒信。一直到4月9日那天，我才等来了第一个offer，而且居然是我的dream offer：City University of New York！这让我觉得很神奇。接着庆幸当时申了这所学校。然后是感慨，命运有时就是偏爱勇敢的人。再然后是一种很复杂的感觉，到现在我也说不清是什么滋味。 我一开始本来没想申CUNY的，因为这所学校排名对我来说还比较高，基本只能冲一下那种。而且申请费很贵：125美元！是别人的两到三倍，还不支持visa信用卡！但我因为某些因素非常想去纽约，而CUNY是我那时唯一可申的纽约学校了。我就对自己说：我难道不能给自己拼一次的机会吗？这次申请可能是我这辈子唯一的一次，之后我的人生就要走上不同的道路。想过这些，我决定宁愿白扔125美元，也要给自己一个机会，无论这机会有多渺茫。于是，我去中国银行办了生平第一张汇票，把它和申请材料一起寄到了美国。
所以，当那天早上我的邮箱里刷出一封带有CUNY标志、疑似offer的邮件时，我没敢立刻看清楚。而是走到走廊上，深呼吸，走了两个来回。然后才回来认认真真的看了那封信。没错，offer，全奖。
当时有种全身发热的感觉，于是我很没素质的大叫了两声，把宿舍哥们都吓了一跳。激动之后，马上发邮件从了。4.15后又来了个NIU的offer，拒了。之后再没其他offer。
至今我仍然觉得这个offer不可思议，因为这几乎就是我唯一的offer。其他学校排名大多数比CUNY低，甚至低得多，都把我拒了。所以我觉得这次完全是靠运气，可能我这辈子的人品都花在这件事上了。但是如果我当初没有申它，我运气再好也没用。所以我想说，人在面对梦想的时候，要敢于相信自己的运气，即使看上去再不可能，也要赌一次。如果这是你一生的梦想，那它就值得你不顾一切，拼一次运气，就这一次！因为，这是梦啊！是你每天都会不知不觉想上无数次的东西。即使最后失败了，以后当你想起来这段往事，你会回忆起你为梦想所做的全部努力，你会很欣慰，而不会有遗憾。

2014年出国留学申请季到来，雅思考试有一些新调整，准备攻克雅思和托福的“烤鸭们”要留意这些新变化，并听听专家名师给出的好建议。
雅思考试
变化一：阅读题选择性题型会增加，而填空题将可能增加数量
考试建议：启德学府雅思首席教学顾问余卓雅老师指出，目前很多应试学生都是知道考试技巧，会找答案，但不是真的看懂句子的意思，但雅思考试考的是学生阅读能力，而不是语法，着重考查学生是否真的明白题目，所以会增加填空题的比重。
而在篇章方面，2011年、2012年的科普文章偏多，今年，考古、天文、文化等人文方面文章将可能增加。学生最好熟悉解题步骤、不同题型的套路，脱离传统每字必读的阅读方式，多进行人文方面文章的阅读训练。
变化二：口语题将会增加新题型
考试建议：预计雅思口语考试在今年7月将增加33%的新题目。但其实，对于所有考生来讲，这都是新的部分，所以学生也无需过分紧张，建议学生加强口语考试第三部分的准备，增加讲话的深度、逻辑论证，这通常是学生突破口语6分的关键。由于雅思偏向于实用性英语，学生英语口音和语调都不是考察的重点，而是重在考查学生的措辞是否地道，比如不小心驾驶不是“irresponsibledriving”，而是“reckledriving”，多看英文电影听英文歌，反复进行真题演练，都有助学生学到最为口语化的实用语句。
变化三：听力题以选择型题型为主
考试建议：相较于2012年，2013年听力难度将会持平。学生备考仍以选择型题型为主。同时，学生要记住，尽量不要购买按照英文字母顺序排序的单词书，通常这些单词书学生背完A系列的单词，就会没心思继续背下去。相反，学生可以选择按不同场景来分类的词汇书，熟悉听力10大类场景的高频词汇。除了听，学生还要练记笔记的速度，以免来不及记下文章要点，做不出答案。
变化四：写作题大作文将可能增加新题目
考试建议：2013年写作题在大作文部分将可能增加新题目。另外，小作文上，可能会延续2012年趋势，高频率地出现流程图，建议学生要做好流程图的写作准备。另外，雅思考官已经发现，很多学生照抄套句、观点，模板化写作问题严重，今年也将打击该类考生的得分，建议学生在用套句的时候，要尽量扣题，做到语言本身自然得体，多练习主体段落的写作，切勿照搬套句

出国留学如果能申请到奖学金，不仅体现了学校对学生个人优秀程度的认可，而且能很大程度上减轻家庭经济压力。研究生课程的奖助学金申请比本科相对容易很多，而且申请时并不是一切由标准考试分数决定，学校的奖学金都在寻找有特点，将来能给学校增添荣誉的有潜力的人。在目前全球性金融危机已经波及到高校的现状下，众多高校的奖学金都出现“缩水”，想要“抢”到奖学金，就必须早入手。
针对研究生留学几个主要目的国的奖学金设置情况、申请条件、申请技巧等内容，记者特邀留学专家针对最新形势作出分析，并给出以下建议。
美国：奖学金种类及金额最多
美国大学可以提供大量各种类型的奖学金，每年都会有相当一大批中国留学生能够拿到全奖，这主要是因为，在美国人眼里，中国留学生的竞争力要比其他国家留学生高出很多。
美国高校奖学金(校内奖学金)分为非服务性奖学金、服务性奖学金和学校贷款三种。非服务性奖学金申请比率最大，其金额也最多。它包括学院助学金、奖学金、全免学杂费以及其他一些学院本身而定的奖励。不同学院在金额和数量上有很大差别。服务性奖学金包含助教金和助研金两种。一般颁发给研究生、博士生，供给学生一定数额的现金，并在大多数学院同时免学杂费。但要求获得此类资助者每周担任12-20小时的辅助教学或研究工作。
申请攻略：专业申请要避重就轻
一般来讲，在奖学金申请上，商科如会计、国际金融、计算机等应用类学科被列入竞争激烈的行列，而数学、物理、化学等基础学科则相对容易申请到奖学金。
申请材料突出综合素质
学生应在申请学校时就提出奖学金的申请，奖评审委员会考查的因素主要有学生在校平均成绩(GPA)、在所在年级的成绩排名、标准考试成绩(如TOEFL、GRE、GMAT、LSAT)，课外活动及个性爱好、工作经验、所得到过的奖励与荣誉、家庭背景等。要争取到奖学金，除了要有优异的成绩，课内外活动中的综合表现也很重要，如担任学生会领导、参加社区服务、有特殊才艺等。如果学生参加过国家级或国际竞赛并取得名次，对争取到奖学金会非常有利。美国大学希望把奖学金给予各方面全面发展的优秀学生，而不是只会读书的书呆子。
一般来讲，向研究方向与自己专业相符的学校提出申请，拿到奖学金的机会比较大。此外，申请人还应在写履历和学习计划时突出自己的旧专业经验和背景，例如曾从事过的与专业相关的活动、设计与创作等。专业背景、知识和兴趣越突出，申请到奖学金的机会也越大。
确保申请材料及时寄到学校
奖学金申请者的入学申请截止日期比一般申请的截止日期要早，一定要确保申请材料在学校规定的截止日期前寄到学校。材料寄出后学生还应积极保持与院校、教授的联系。
英国：早申请早“占位”
英国留学的优势不在奖学金上，而在其“高人一等”的优秀教育资源上。全球TOP100的名校有1/4在英国，英国是中国学生申请到名校OFFER几率最大的留学目的国。虽然英国读研的奖学金发放不具普遍性，但是有些学校奖学金的设立还是很有力度的。
英国Chevening奖学金由英国外国和联邦办公室提供，帮助国际学生在英国完成硕士课程学习。该项目目前每年向来自150多个国家的留学生提供2200种新的奖学金，并且计划进一步增加。申请人需参加在英国1年以上的研究生文凭或硕士研究课程(该奖学金有时候也向学习1年以下课程的学生提供)，另外，还
得要有工作经验。申请时与你当地的英国大使馆文化处联系(你必须是当地的居民)。之后，由大使馆从候选人中进行挑选，确定。
海外研究学生奖学金是为全日制硕士研究生提供的一种奖学金，为期1年。为学生补贴留学期间的花销。该奖学金由英国教育与技能部提供。申请人必须是读英国公立大学研究类硕士课程的学生，还要显示出优秀的学术和研究能力。
为吸引优秀人才，有些大学斥巨资打造自己的奖学金金字招牌。
申请攻略：申请英国硕士起码要提前一年准备。因为英国的硕士课程，每年只开学一次，一些“牛校”的热门专业会有具体的申请截止时间，比如牛津、剑桥的法律、工程、商科等。申请的截止时间较早，超时投递不受理。帝国理工、LSE、爱丁堡等学校的热门专业，虽未有明确的截止时间，但每年申请量较大，额满即止。
加拿大：要重视“软”材料
为了提升加拿大在全球的竞争力，加拿大政府每年都将助学金和奖学金划入财政预算中，来培养高学历和高适应能力的劳动力。
加拿大的奖学金主要有加拿大政府提供的政府助学金(无息学生贷款)和由学校为国际学生提供的各种类型的奖学金和助学金。无息学生贷款有两种，一种是联邦政府和省政府贷款，另一种是商业银行贷款。不过国际学生只有移民加拿大后才能申请到学生贷款。
校内奖助学金相对比较丰富，金额也比较可观。一般有研究生学术卓著奖、国际学费奖学金、助研金、助教金等。
申请攻略：加拿大大学的奖学金竞争十分激烈。大多数家长和学生认为只要有了高分的 TOEFL、GRE(GMAT)就一定能申请到奖学金，这是错误的。推荐信、个人简历、PS与学生在中国的学习成绩单这几项材料，每一项的重要性都不在
标准考试成绩之下。因此，不要忽视这些“软件”材料，此外，突出自己的个人优势，还应与申请学校建立一种较为密切的联系。
从进行第一次信函联系到拿到奖学金往往要花上半年到10个月时间，因此最好在开学前一年递交申请。
澳大利亚：技术含量高的专业更易申请奖学金
澳大利亚的海外学生奖学金一般分为两类，一类是澳洲政府的奖学金，另一类是大学的奖学金。澳洲政府的奖学金一般是发放给中国国家工作人员以及来自海外的做研究课题的硕士或博士研究生，申请的难度及要求的条件都较高，名额有限。但是大学发放给国际学生的奖学金相对较容易取得，并且奖学金种类及数目也都不少。
申请攻略：澳洲留学奖学金政策正在逐步放宽，新开设奖学金的专业大多是工程专业，所以建议学生不要片面地集中去报读会计、国际贸易等热门的商科专业，选择一些工程、设计等技术含量相对较高、学术要求更严格的专业将会更有利于将来的发展。
申请条件：1.学习比较优异，一般平均分会在85%以上；2.已经通过雅思或托福考试；3.“211大学”或“985工程”院校的优秀学生。
“八大”录取要求调整，尤须准备充足
面对近年留学生人数大幅增加的情况，在2010学年，澳洲“八大名校联盟”纷纷调整录取要求。例如，悉尼大学针对研究生硕士学位的申请出台新政策：从2010年7月的申请开始，所有非211大学的学生需提供学位证和成绩单的清华认证；而澳大利亚国立大学工程学院的入学标准更加的细化，按照98
5、211和非211三个档次来划分中国申请者的本科学校，每个档次对应的入学分数也不相同；墨大工程学院与国立大学类似，入学要求更加的细化，即使同一工程学院，不同的专业入学要求也有所不同。
新加坡：工科及理工类政府助学金较多
为了吸收外来人才到新加坡发展，新加坡政府及企业提供了各种类型的奖学金，新加坡不是把教育作为产业化的国家，政府公立院校并不是靠招收海外学生来盈利。
新加坡有很多企业奖学金，奖学金数额很高，学生可获得包括学费，生活费，飞机票在内的全部费用。政府助学金是新加坡政府为海外学生提供的部分免费奖学金，如果能申请到，学生还可以向新加坡银行申请上学期间的免息贷款。同时学校还提供各种类型的奖学金或生活费的免息贷款等。这些基本上可满足生活费用支出。
申请攻略：新加坡三所公立大学硕士入学时间每年有两次，由于申请政府助学金入学的时间为每年的8月份，建议提前一年时间做申请。申请材料很重要，但并不像其它国家那样复杂，材料准备比较简单。大部分院校需提供大学成绩，个人陈述、推荐信等基本材料。当然，如果学生有其它特长，可以同时递交。这也可为学生申请助学金多一份砝码。面试成绩非常重要，如果学生没有通过面试，很难被学校录取，面试并不是唯一考查学生的语言能力，还同时考查学生的基本素质，修养等等。
一直以来新加坡政府针对国际学生申请新加坡国立大学、南洋理工大学的工科及理工类都会提供政府助学金；但文科提供的相对少。建议学生在申请助学金时一定要考虑好所申请的专业。
