Reading Interests of Senior Middle School Students

Recently a survey has been done to find out the reading interests of senior middle school students.In this survey, one thousand senior middle school students from ten schools in Hubei Province were interviewed.They were asked which they liked reading most among the four categories of English articles: news, stories, popular science articles and articles about learning methods.

The survey shows that more than half of the students like to read news most.Twenty-six percent of the students say that English stories are their favorite.Only seven percent of the students are most interested in reading articles about learning methods.However, the number of students who enjoy reading popular science articles doubles that of those who prefer reading articles about learning methods.

第20篇：英语高考改革

高考改革：

英语一年两考，听力不会取消

江苏的高考新方案备受社会各界关注。快报此前曾报道，新方案预计将从今年秋季入学的高中生，也就是2017年参加高考的学生开始执行。昨天，沈健向现代快报记者透露，\"江苏的高考新方案已经基本上形成，但是必须由教育部批准备案后，才能向社会公布。\"

谈到改革的重点，沈健说，高考主要是改变\"一考定终身\"的现状，实施分类考试。除了规定的语数外考试外，学校可以根据自己的学科门类，来选测科目，考生也可以根据自己的兴趣爱好，选择科目，最后计入总分。另外，还正在探索综合评价的方式。至于详细的内容，包括选哪些科目，采用什么样的计分，这些都要等教育部批准后再公开。

不久前，山东明确2014年高考正式取消英语听力，大家猜测，江苏会不会也跟着取消。对此，沈健非常肯定地说，江苏的高考不会取消英语听力测试，因为这是反映学生英语水平高低的要求，以及对运用这门语言的能力测试。

对于社会广泛关注的\"一年多考\"问题，沈健也明确，江苏是实行英语\"一年两考\"，考生可取最好成绩作为自己的英语成绩。

小升初：

免试就近入学意味着什么

春节前夕，教育部再次明确了\"免试、就近入学\"的原则。对此，南京市民黄女士担忧：这样堵住了小升初的关卡，那是不是就意味着择校环节的梗阻会提前得更早?

沈健表示，择校热降温的\"治本\"良方还是优质教育资源的均衡配置。在义务教育阶段，江苏正在实施校长、教师在一定区域范围内(即在县市区)一定比例合理流动(即每年不低于15%)。此外，各地也在探索，教师的编制由现有学校管，这些对义务教育学校的均衡发展有很大作用。

应对\"单独两孩\"：

每年要新增18万名幼儿，调整教育发展规划

江苏的\"单独两孩\"政策本月有望出台。沈健坦言，教育部门的压力很大，\"初步预测，‘单独两孩’政策实施后，江苏每年会新增18万左右的新生儿，再加上外来人员的随迁子女，江苏的学前教育将在2016年迎来学前入学高峰。\"他表示，江苏将提前优化调整学前教育和义务教育发展规划，满足生源的变化需求，比如，新建和改扩建400所幼儿园。
